Making Your Parties Sustainable: Easy Tips for Eco-Friendly Hosting
Sustainability in hosting doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style. In fact, many eco-friendly choices are actually more elegant and personal. Here is how to go green for your next gathering.
1. Digital Over Paper
Skip the paper invites. Digital event pages are more efficient, allow for instant updates, and save a significant amount of waste.
2. Real Glassware & Plates
If possible, avoid disposables. Reusable plates and glassware not only look better but are obviously better for the environment. If you must use disposables, look for compostable bamboo options.
3. Local and Seasonal Menu
Food that hasn't traveled halfway across the world tastes better and has a much lower carbon footprint. Visit your local farmer's market for inspiration.
4. Bulk Beverages
Instead of dozens of plastic water bottles or sodas, use large dispensers for water, iced tea, or punch. It looks much nicer on the table, too!
5. Conscious Decor
Avoid "single-use" party favors and plastic balloons. Instead, use potted plants, fresh flowers (that can be taken home by guests), or high-quality fabric runners.
Hosting with a conscience feels good—and your guests will definitely notice the intentionality.
